Abstract
"GERENCIAMENTO DE CARGA DE TRABALHO EM UM AMBIENTE DE COMPUTAçãO". A alocação de recursos compartilháveis de um ambiente de computação é dinamicamente ajustada para equilibrar a carga de trabalho deste ambiente. A carga de trabalho é gerenciada através de duas ou mais partições de uma pluralidade de partições do ambiente de computação, que de preferência são configuradas como grupos de partições. Pelo menos um grupo do ambiente de computação inclui uma pluralidade de partições do ambiente de computação. Recursos compartilháveis são designados para as partições do grupo e são gerenciados como um grupo. O gerenciamento inclui dinamicamente ajustar a alocação de um recurso compartilhável de pelo menos uma partição de duas ou mais partições de modo a equilibrar as metas de carga de trabalho das duas ou mais partições. Um exemplo disto ;é o gerenciamento dos recursos da unidade central de processamento (CPU) dentro de um ambiente de computação. Quando a alocação dos recursos da CPU para uma partição do ambiente de computação é para ser ajustada, a alocação é ajustada dinamicamente. O ajuste inclui modificar os pesos de processador associados com as partições.
