Abstract

The invention relates to a method for the preparation of ivermectine by the application of rhodium-containing catalytic system for selective hydration of ivermectine B1a and B1b. The ivermectine has considerable antiparasitic activity and is used as antihelminth agent, ektoparasiticide, insecticide and acaricide. The catalytic system is produced in situ, by adding an activator, trimethylaminooxide (CH3)3NO or dichlorbis (acetonitrile) palladium Pd Cl2(CH3CN)2, which can accept triphenylphosphinic ligands,to the RhCl(Ph3)3 Wilkinson complex for selective hydration of double carbon-carbon bonds. In this way the time needed for the activation of the complex, and the total time of the process are reduced. 2 claims
