Abstract

A disc (2) is retained in position on a support (2) by flexible feet (6). This support moves on slides (21) into a casing (20) against a return spring (22) and is maintained in the open position by a retaining element (23) while a catch (24) locks it in the closed position. A rotating plate (4) carries the cleaning element (3) and on its lower face has a tenon (25) which engages a circular groove (26) in the support. The tenon also engages a cut out (27) in the casing which acts as a shoulder and causes rotation of the plate and the cleaning element as the support is moved in and out of the casing. This action cleans the lower face of the disc. The action may be effected by a battery powered electric motor.

Description

No 895.177 du 29 novembre 1982.

  Cleaning device for discs.

The present invention relates to modifications made to the cleaning device for discs described and put under protection by the Belgian patent.

No 895.177 of November 29, 1982.

In this patent, the storage device consists of two half-boxes articulated around a common axis and the opening or closing movement of one half-box relative to the other ensures the rotation of the disc on the means of cleaning.

The present invention relates to the case where the case is provided with a sliding support for the disc and relates to devices intended to allow

effective cleaning and perfect disc maintenance in the case of cases of this type.

These improvements will be described below.

with reference to the attached drawings in which:
Figure 1: is a top view of the housing in the open position. Figure 2: is a section along line II-II in Figure 1. Figure 3: is a section along line III-III in Figure 1. Figure 4: is a top view of the housing during the closing operation . Figure 5: is a section of an embodiment detail.

In the figures there is shown a support 1

of discs 2 sliding into a housing
20.

In such a device, slides 21 are generally provided, a return spring 22, a means

retainer 23 in the open position and a locking pawl 24 in the closed position.

Disc 2 is held in place on the support

1 using flexible tabs 6 which can engage with the central opening of the disc.

In accordance with the invention, a rotary plate 4 provided with cleaning means 3 is provided on the upper face of the sliding support 1.

the plate 4 carries a tenon 25 which is introduced into a circular groove 26 formed in the support 1 and

which also engages in a cutout 27 provided in the bottom of the housing 20.

It is therefore understood that, by sliding the support 1 relative to the housing 4 so as to make it enter or leave the housing 20 (Figure 4), the movement of the pin 25 will be limited by cutting

27 so that, abutting against the edge of this cutout, this tenon, while moving in the groove 26, will cause a rotation movement of the movable plate 4 provided with the cleaning means 3.

When a disc 2 is placed on the support 1 and held by the flexible tabs 6, the movement of the movable plate 4 when the housing 20 is closed and / or opened causes the underside of the disc to be cleaned 2.

Preferably the axis of rotation of the plate 4

is also offset from that of the disc in order to avoid circular scratches relative to the surface of the disc if a hard object is accidentally present between or in the cleaning means 3.

As in this embodiment the disc 2 must be held firmly relative to the mobile cleaning means, a holding device such as that shown in FIG. 5 is advantageously provided.

In this embodiment, a central button 8 mounted on the axis 5 of the support 1 and subjected to the influence of a spring 10 can act on the cantilevered ends 12 of the flexible tabs 6 and allows very effective retention of the disc. 2.

Significant tension is thus created by the tabs 6 on the edge of the central opening of the disc.

which makes it perfectly integral with said legs.

When the user presses button 8,

against the spring 10, it causes the legs 6 to bend while allowing the disc 2 to be released.

To facilitate the installation of disc 2,

the button 8 and the flexible tabs 6 have inclined faces 14 and 15.

On the other hand, rather than using mechanical means to ensure the relative movement of the disc relative to its cleaning means such as

described in the main patent and this description, it is advantageous to use very small electrical means such as motors powered by a battery.
