Decals, esp. for application to textiles by ironing, are produced by printing in mirror image form on a thin layer of thermoplastic material. Colour reprodn. is good after ironing onto cotton and prod. can also be applied to other surfaces, e.g. wood, paper and plastics, and it gives good resistance to washing.
