Abstract

Base sheet for photography consists of a biaxially oriented support sheet made of a linear polyester, and a base layer applied to one or both faces of the sheet. The base layer consists of a mixt of a polyurethane and (a) a homopolymer of a cyclic anhydride of an unsatd acid, and/or (b) a copolymer of this anhydride and a comonomer. The mixt contains up to 75wt% of polymer (a) and/or (b) Gelatin-silver halide emulsions halide emulsions adhere well to the base layer even under severe conditions eg exposure to org solvents or alkaline solns.
