Abstract

Membrance for use in various separation processes consists of polyvinylacetal. The membranes are easy to produce (by casting a suitable soln. of the polymer), tough, resistant to acids and bases, and have readily controllable pore size. A suitable casting compsn. comprises 10-20 wt.% polyvinylformal and 90-80 wt.% DMSO.
