Suivant cette invention, il est procuré un matelas comprenant un ensemble;, contenu dans une enveloppe convenable, de coussins rectangulai- res élastiques, un de ces coussins au moins présentant un degré   d'élasticité   différent de l'autre, ou des autres. 



   Suivant une autre caractéristique de l'invention, l'enveloppe est divisée intérieurement par des cloisons flexibles convenables, en vue de former des poches séparées, pour recevoir ces coussins. 



   Un exemple de matelas fabriqué suivant cette invention est montré dans les dessins annexés, dans lesquels: 
La figo 1 est une vue en perspective isométrique du matelas; 
La   figo   2 est une coupe en élévation de   celui-ci.   



   Comme le montrent les dessins, il est procuré une enveloppe rectan- gulaire creuse en tissu 1, divisée intérieurement par des longueurs convena- bles de tissu 2, pour former trois poches rectangulaires 3, destinées à rece- voir trois coussins 4,5,6 de forme correspondante. Les coussins 4, 5 et 6 sont, de préférence, introduits par le côté de l'enveloppe 1. Dans ce but, trois rebords de ce côté sont attachés à la partie principale de l'envelop- pe 1 par une fermeture-éclair 7, ou un autre moyen de fermeture détachable. 



   Les coussins 4, 5 et 6, introduits dans les poches 3, ne possèdent pas chacun un degré identique d'élasticité, mais ils diffèrent en vue de ré- pondre à divers besoinso Par exemple, le coussin central 5 peut être fabri- qué en caoutchouc-mousse, tandis que les deux coussins d'extrémité 4 et 6 peuvent être pourvues de ressorts intérieurs.

   Cette construction peut donner largement le confort et la souplesse d'un matelas en caoutchouc-mousse, à plus bas prix, et elle possède l'avantage supplémentaire qu'aucun bouton, ou gland, n'est nécessaire, pour positionner les coussins 4,5 et 6, et éga- lement que l'enveloppe 1 ne peut pas se déplacer par rapport à ces coussins, comme il arrive souvent avec le recouvrement des matelas en caoutchouc-mousse, La construction indiquée possède, en outre, l'avantage qu'elle convient aux personnes qui sont allergiques au caoutchouc, ou à l'odeur du caoutchouc, puisque la tête du dormeur sera suffisamment éloignée de la partie en caout- chouc du matelas, pour l'empêcher d'avoir une influence défavorableo

   This invention relates to mattresses for beds, sofas, or the like.
According to this invention, there is provided a mattress comprising an assembly, contained in a suitable envelope, of elastic rectangular cushions, at least one of these cushions having a different degree of elasticity from the other, or from the others.



   According to another characteristic of the invention, the envelope is internally divided by suitable flexible partitions, in order to form separate pockets, to receive these cushions.



   An example of a mattress made according to this invention is shown in the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is an isometric perspective view of the mattress;
Figo 2 is a sectional elevation thereof.



   As shown in the drawings, there is provided a hollow rectangular fabric envelope 1, internally divided by suitable lengths of fabric 2, to form three rectangular pockets 3, intended to receive three cushions 4,5,6 of corresponding shape. The cushions 4, 5 and 6 are preferably introduced from the side of the envelope 1. For this purpose, three flanges on this side are attached to the main part of the envelope 1 by a zipper 7 , or other detachable closure means.



   The cushions 4, 5 and 6, introduced into the pockets 3, do not each have an identical degree of elasticity, but they differ in order to meet various needs. For example, the central cushion 5 can be made from foam rubber, while the two end cushions 4 and 6 can be provided with internal springs.

   This construction can provide much of the comfort and flexibility of a rubber-foam mattress, at a lower cost, and it has the added advantage that no buttons, or tassels, are needed to position the cushions 4, 5 and 6, and also that the casing 1 cannot move relative to these cushions, as often happens with the covering of foam rubber mattresses. The construction shown has the further advantage that 'it is suitable for people who are allergic to rubber, or to the smell of rubber, since the sleeper's head will be far enough away from the rubber part of the mattress, to prevent it from having an unfavorable influence.
While a specific construction has been described and illustrated, it will be clear that this can be modified by making the cushions 4,

   5 and 6 of the same material but with different degrees of elasticity, by manufacturing these cushions with different dimensions, and / or by making the cushions in different materials of the conventional type, and also by varying the number of cushions constituting the mattress.
