Abstract
Bicycle racing shoes equipped with a diagonal strap whose one end isattached to the front at the level of the axis of the automatic pedal and theother end is attached to the rear and to the other side of the shoe. Themiddle of the strap passes over the instep of the foot, as closely aspossible to the leg.<IMAGE>
Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The present invention relates to a pair of bicycle racing shoes equipped with cleat for automatic pedal.
The automatic pedals allow the cyclist to pull on them during the rising movement of the leg.
The pedals are located at the toe of the shoe and are distant from the ankle, therefore cantilevered from the latter and make it provide an effort which prevents the maximum efficiency of the traction effort provided by the cyclist. during the upward movement of the leg.
In the present invention, a diagonal strap replaces the upper lateral strap or is superimposed on it.
This strap provided with a tightening loop which ensures the tension, is sewn on the back of the shoe on one side, and on the other side, is sewn in front at the height of the axis of the pedal. automatic; the middle of the strap passing over the kick, as close as possible to the leg.
During the upward movement of the leg, the foot lifts slightly in the shoe, the kick comes to force against the strap whose tension increases and pull on the seam located at the axis of the pedal.
The pair of shoes thus constructed allows the cyclist to lift the pedal with the top of the kick instead of pulling it with the tip of the foot.
The traction point is then close to the ankle, it will be less stressed and the speed of the cyclist will be increased in the hills and during sprints or violent efforts.
The pair of shoes and straps will be described below and illustrated by the drawing.

The drawing shows the upward and downward movement.
The shoes are characterized by a strap 1 placed diagonally, the end 2 of which is sewn on one side, at the height of the axis of the automatic pedal A which receives the cleat of the shoe.
The other end 6 is sewn on the other side and on the back of the shoe.
A tightening loop 7 provides tension, the middle of this strap passes over the kick ¯q of the cyclist.
During the upward movement, the cyclist's foot lifts slightly in the shoe, the kick forces against the upper part of the shoe where the strap passes whose tension increases and pulls the end 2 which is located above

of axis 3 of the pedal. Traction point 3 is moved over the top of the kick.
During the descending phase, the strap is only used to close the shoe.
