 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The present invention relates to the therapeutic increase in the length of the spine and relates to a base elongation table.
 EMI1.1
 Spine.

In the medical field Elongation of the spine is a known technique, which has shown good results in therapeutics such as trapped discs, sciatic nerves, etc.

Horizontal stretching tables are known in this field, the operating principle of which consists in applying traction to a fixed member, so as to bring it in and to maintain it in a desired state of extension. With these known tables any possibility of accidental exaggerated traction is not ruled out.

To overcome this drawback, it seemed advantageous, according to the invention, to create an elongation table, characterized in that it is shaped so as to keep the patient in an upright position and in that the only traction energy is Gravity,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

thus eliminating any possibility of traction greater than the suspended weight.

An elongation table according to the invention comprises a vertical column, mounted on a stable foot, and on which slides a pneumatic belt intended to surround the patient's chest as well as a second vertical column, on which slides a pelvis clamp mounted so as to follow the upward and downward movements of the pneumatic belt.

The invention is described below in more detail on the basis of the accompanying drawings, by way of example only, showing in: Figure 1 a perspective sketch of an overall view of an elongation table along L invention; Figure 2 a profile view of the elongation table
 EMI2.1
Figure 1; Figure 3 a detailed plan view of the table at the location of the pneumatic belt, and Figure 4 a detailed plan view of the table at the location of the pelvis clamp.

As can be seen in the drawings, an elongation table according to the invention comprises a vertical column 1 mounted on a stable foot 2 and on which a pneumatic belt 3 with five inflation points is slid, intended to surround the patient's chest.

A hydraulic cylinder 4 makes it possible to adapt the belt 3 very comfortably, while a hydraulic cylinder

drauLique 5 supports and even lifts the patient.

A scale 6 with digital indications reported on the table control panel is fixed on the base plate of foot 1. These indications allow the base of column 1 to be relieved of all or part of the weight of the suspended body.

Parallel to column 1 is mounted a second vertical column 7, on which slides a pelvis clamp 8. This clamp 8 follows the upward and downward movements of the pneumatic belt 3, the support sleeve 7 ′ of said clamp being connected to the sleeve for supporting said belt, and the distance between belt 3 and clamp 8 is adjustable.

The pelvis clamp 8 is driven by a vibratory movement with a slight alternative rotation by means of a small eccentric motor 9. This allows an accentuation of the relaxation of the bottom of
 EMI3.1
 Spine.

The second vertical column 7 is fixed to the vertical column 1 by siLentbLocs 10, so as not to transmit excessive vibrations to the pneumatic support belt 3.

The vertical column 1 is surmounted by a height rod 11 and at its foot are located in a box 12 The hydraulic unit and the solenoid valves controlling the jacks 4 and 5.

In an elongation table according to the invention, the e-

energy of traction being Gravity, an accidental traction too strong cannot in any case exceed The suspended weight, which is a guarantee of safety.

The comfort of the support device added to the well-being of the vibrating massage in extension make it a very efficient table in the area of elongation of the base of the spine.
