Abstract

The lid (12) is held on the barrel by a clamping ring (14) one web of which fits over the top of the lid. The other web lies against the sloping lower face of a flange around the barrel opening and extends into a neck section of the barrel of reduced diameter. The neck section increases conically to the full diameter of the barrel. A seal (30) is mounted between lid and barrel rim. The shape of the cover is in the form of a truncated cone with an indent in the conical section in which a filler opening (42) is formed.
