Abstract

Facility comprising an upper waste feeding enclosure (7), a lower enclosure (9) for receiving, processing and discharging ground waste, grinding means (8) inserted between the two enclosures, means for injecting vapour into the lower enclosure and a container (14) for storing ground waste. Said container, which is open on the top, is perforated to allow water and vapour to pass and is located in the lower enclosure (9) under the grinding means. The base (16) of said container (14) includes at least one discharge hatch (17<u>a</u>, 17<u>b</u>). The lower enclosure (9) includes a base cover (6) and the facility includes means for controllably opening and closing the discharge hatches (17<u>a</u>, 17<u>b</u>) and means for controllably opening and closing the base cover (6) of the lower enclosure (9).
