Abstract

The invention relates to a collar that is secured to the neck of an animal, such as a dog, cat or the like, to fight against parasites, in particular fleas, may be carried by the animal in closed rooms without causing annoyance for humans because of the smell. The collar contains an insecticide (20) incorporated into its material. In order to mask or cover the smell of insecticide (20), an odoriferous substance or a vegetal or synthetic perfume (120), such as an etheric oil, a perfume-oil or perfume-wax mixture, a resinoid or a fixative, is incorporated into the material of which the collar (10) is made.
