Abstract
A package 10 includes a product 14, a bottom 12 which supports the product, a non-barrier layer 16 sealed to the bottom which encloses the product, a peelable barrier layer 18 peelably disposed on the non-barrier layer and an oxygen scavenger layer 20, disposed between the non-barrier layer and the barrier layer. The peelable barrier layer and the oxygen scavenger layer are substantially impervious to oxygen and, when the peelable barrier layer and the oxygen scavenger layer are removed, the non-barrier layer which is substantially pervious to oxygen is exposed. <MATH>
