Abstract
A whipper snipper cord-cutting tool comprising two relatively pivotal parts, one of which carries two moveable blades and the other of which is so engaged with the blades to cause a simultaneous radial and rotational movement of the blades as the parts are pivotably displaced to one another. The blade's edge initially faces an opening. A small hole in the centre of the housing case in which a line trimmer cable is pushed and threaded through the open holes and when the parts are pivotably displaced the cutting edges of the blades effect a simultaneous inward and circumferential cutting action on the line cable.
Description
TRIM LINE WHIPPER SNIPPER CORD CUTTING TOOL FIELD OF INVENTION
2019100719 01 Jul 2019
The cutting tool relates to the lawn mowing industry, more particularly to a cutting tool designed as a safety device to avoid a laceration to finger.
An object of the invention is to provide a cutting tool which overcomes safety issues and which offers clean cuts which require only a minimal effort. The cutting of the object is thus effected progressively both circumferentially and radially with a minimum effort.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Various embodiments of the present invention are disclosed herein below, which relate to a whipper snipper cord-cutting tool consisting of two blades, that their sharp edges work one against the other.
Furthermore, having self sharping blades. Additionally, a small hollow hole in the centre of the housing that covers the sharp edges.
Embodiments of the present invention generally relate to the field of the lawn and garden industry, handyman, contractors and general public for home use, and more particularly to a cutting tool to cut whipper snipper cord ready for use. The present invention is a safety device designed to avoid a laceration to a finger, a puncture wound, a deep cut that could potentially sever significant blood vessels. Concealed inside the tool are two blades, having a small hole raised slightly above the centre of the housing, that surrounds the edges for protection. The device is a cutting tool which can be opened and shut firmly against the cord, whereas the blade slices and cuts the cord ready for use. The centre of the housing is slightly raised having a small hole, whereas the line, loaded in position, ready to cut the required length of the cord.
The present invention, a cutting instrument consisting of two blades, that their sharp edges work one against the other, whereas having a small hole in the centre of the housing, finger free to protect fingers from a laceration. Therefore as may be seen, various embodiments of the present invention as disclosed hereinabove provide significant advantages over prior devices having a variety of wide blades having no protection against an accident.
2019100719 01 Jul 2019
Generally, a variety of cutting tools seen, thus, nowhere to be seen, known as a safety device against cutting a whipper snipper cord that protects fingers from a laceration, such as a Stanley knife, with a wide blade which has no protection from causing an unexpected accident. The present invention is an efficient cutting tool and a safety device.
Accordingly, there remains a need for a safety device in the industry for the innovative, practical solution for providing a whipper snipper cord-cutting tool, which solves all the safety problems associated with devices with wide blades such as, Stanley knife or any other devices having a free edge. It is not uncommon amoung people using utility cutting devices with open blades to recieve a laceration to a finger.
Therefore, taking into consideration insurance companies payout numerous compensation claims each year from lacerations caused by cutting tools having open knives.

The line trimmer cutter comprises two parts mounted for pivotal movement to each other around the axis. A housing case includes a circular cover plate with a small circular hole in the centre of the housing case. The said cutter comprises a housing with a slight thickness, in the centre of which the small opening found. The cable cutter also includes a first blade module and a second blade module. The blade modules can slide relative to the housing. The blades of blade modules release the cutting opening to insert the cable. The housing case comprises two half - shells of complementary shapes, between which a casing arranged. The half shells are attached to one other by screws. The casing has two small circular openings that are parallel to one other that allows communication between the small openings. The blades are substantially planar and have a cutting edge in the shape of an arc and can slide respectively into the opportunities of the casing, where the blade can slide into the slot. The second blade module also comprises a blade that is also attached to the support and can slide respectively into the opening of the casing, whereas the blades can slide into the slot.
The said cutting tool (1) includes a housing (2) that has a small opening (3) the casing also comprises a slot (4) a first moveable blade module (5) a second blade module (6) relative to the housing between a closed configuration of which the blades of the blade modules close the cutting opening, and an open arrangement, in which the blades edges of the blade module release the cutting opening.
Furthermore, the cable cutter comprising two pivotal parts, one of what carries two moveable blades and the other which engaged with the modules. The sharp blades initially face a small opening in the housing plate in which line trimmer cable pushed and threaded through the opening when the parts are pivotably displaced the cutting edges of the blades effect a simultaneous inward and circumferential cutting action.
25.
Under an embodiment of the present invention, the blades are a portion of the tool, made from a variety of steel, preferably made from stainless steel; however, a plurality of other steel may be used such as high carbon steel coated with chromium or nickel to avoid rust or any other suitable metal.

Furthermore, comprising the invention, the device may be constructed having a push button blade release for safe lock system. A locking mechanism is able, in a locked position, to keep the blade modules within the closed setting an in an unlocked position, to allow the blade modules to switch to the open configuration. The locking mechanism can change from the locked position to the unlocked position and vice versa during the switching from the closed configuration to the actuation configuration. A button makes it possible to keep the blades in the closed position. It is necessary to move the button downwards, which has the effect of allowing the modules to switch to open configuration under the action of a spring, and then to rest on the blades.
Furthermore, the blades closing the hole in the housing as they move along sideways and while they cut the cord in a guillotine manner.
Depending on the resilient means are preferably a compression spring mounted at the pivot axis of the blades. Those mean advantageously seek to hold the said blades in an open position when the device is at rest, and they also serve to oppose a force that resists the movement towards each other while cutting the line cord. Advantageously, a temporary closure means are to also provide for preventing the two blades from moving relative to each other while the device is at rest, these mean preferably holding the said blades in together close position.
The blades produce a cutting action at the same time the sharp edges penetrate into the cable thus avoiding any crushing of the cord.
A whipper snipper cord cutter comprising first and second parts pivotably connected together, two cutting blades mounted on the said first part, said second part having a central small hole adapted for insertion of a line trimmer cord, and means coupling said blades with second part for effecting simultaneous displacement of said blades both radially and rotatably as said first part is pivoted relative to said second part so the blades cut the cable with a progressively circumferental cut.
Furthermore, the device can consist of a single blade rather than twin blades, with or without the release lock system.
The cable cutter made according to the present invention made of a small size, so it may fit into a persons pocket.
35.
The cutting tool preferably made accordance with the embodiment of the instant invention as a Whipper snipper cord cutting device, however, the present invention is a utility cutting device, whereas a plurality of other suitable objects, such as soft tubing, thin electrical wiring, zip ties and any other suitable material may cut in the tool.
