Description
Improved air-conditioner Condenser Base.
The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me: The base most commonly used, as an air-conditioner condenser mount is a solid rectangular pre poured concrete base. This invention has been specifically designed so as to improve on the concrete base. The base can be constructed from polypropylene or a suitable plastic material. It is rectangular in shape and the dimensions are 900mm in length 450mm in width and 50 mm in height. It is a stable lightweight platform suitable for the support of air-conditioning condensers.
The base will incorporate a series of channels molded into its surface. The channels have been incorporated into the base to remove excess condensate water dripping from condenser service valves. The channels catch and divert the excess condensate water from condenser service valves and channel the water to an area on the base in front of the condenser fan where the condensate water is evaporated, see figure 1.
The evaporation process relies on the condenser running in a cooling mode and producing heated air. The heated air is drawn through the fan and passes over the channels, as the heated air passes the channels water in this area is quickly evaporated. The pattern of the channels will cover an area large enough to allow for the different sizes and designs of most air-conditioner condensers, see figure 2.
The underside of the base has been designed so that it can support the weight of a condenser using a diamond pattern for support, see figure 3. The diamond pattern reduces the amount of material needed in the base and results in the base remaining lightweight and structurally strong.
The top of the base is 5mm thick except for an area from the ends towards the center for 200mm. This area has been strengthened with an extra 2 mm of thickness added in its design. This area is where the condensers feet can be fastened to the base. The purpose of this thickened area is to allow for secure fastening of the condenser by the Is0 use of self-drilling screws and to accommodate the different sizes and spacing of the 0 O condenser feet, see figure 4.

Claims (4)
1. A base rectangular in shape that incorporates a series of channels molded onto its surface. A pattern of channels that catch and divert excess condensate water.
2. The underside of the base uses a diamond pattern design that reduces the amount of material needed in the base and results in the base remaining lightweight _and structurally strong.
3. The top of the base has been strengthened with an extra 2 mm of thickness o added in its design. The purpose of this thickened area is to allow for secure fastening of the condenser by the use of self-drilling screws and to accommodate the different sizes and spacing of condenser footings.
4. A base according to claims 1, 2 and 3, wherein the base is made from polypropylene or plastic. A base substantially as herein before described with reference to figures 1- 4 of the accompanying drawings.
