Abstract

Polyorganosiloxanes (I) with at least three silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms, both terminal and internal, are used as crosslinking agents in silicone compositions for forming water-repellent release coatings. Polyorganosiloxanes of formula (I) are used as crosslinking agents in silicone compositions for forming water-repellent release coatings in which the most viscous polyorganosiloxane has a dynamic viscosity of no more than 1500 mPas at 25 deg C: M alpha M' beta D psi D' delta M = (R<1>)3Si1/2; M' = Ha(R<1>)bSi1/2; D = (R<2>)2Si2/2; D' = HR<3>SiO2/2; a = 1-3; b = 0-3; a+b = 3; alpha = 0-2; beta = 0-2 but not 0; psi , delta = numbers greater than 0; psi / delta = a number greater than 0; beta / delta = 0.015-0.15. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a crosslinkable silicone composition for forming water-repellent release coatings in which the most viscous polyorganosiloxane has a dynamic viscosity of no more than 1500 mPas at 25 deg C, comprising (I), a polyorganosiloxane (II) having at least two silicon-bonded alkenyl groups, and a platinum-group metal catalyst; (2) a substrate with a release coating formed from a silicone composition as above.
