Abstract
The invention relates to a compressed air preparation device for motor vehicles, which comprises an electronic control unit (6) and a regeneration device (11), whereby the regeneration device (11) is controlled by the electronic control unit (6). The invention also relates to a method for regenerating the drying agent of an air dryer (8) of a compressed air supply system of a motor vehicle. The inventive compressed air preparation device is characterized in that after switching off the motor vehicle, the regeneration device (11) is controlled by the control unit (6) in a manner that enables the execution of at least one regeneration cycle. The inventive method is characterized by the following method steps: detecting the switching off of the vehicle, and circulating dry air through the air dryer (8).
