The following statement is a full descriotbIon of this invention, a model of which has been found to operate satisfactorily.
ATTACHMENT TO CUTTING BOARD (KITCHEN) The invention described was devised to facilitate the cutting of difficult items and at the same time lessen the danger of accidents. It was devised primarily for cutting vegetables, but could be used for cutting various items The need was evident after watching people cutting items such as sweet corn and pumpkins.It is made completely of steel and consists of a frame which is fastened to the edge of a cutting board.a serrated nawl or a series of four sided pawls as shown in figure one are mounted in this frame. The serrated paw 1 whichis the preferred option would swing freely from the position of the top pawl.The pawls are designed to swing by gravity to the position shown in figure one. The device is used by inserting the point of the knife into the slot above thepawl and sliding it downwards through the pawls till it contacts the item being cut The handleof the knife is then forced downwards using the pawl as a fulcrum.
This gives leverage to the knife user.This action isrepeated until the item is severed mhe figyres one and two are not to scale. The invention does not interfere in any way with the everyday use of the board.
