Abstract

The table comprises a frame (1) defining a hollow housing, a platform (3), means (4) for mounting the said platform pivotally about a shaft (5) secured to the said frame (1) and so that the said platform can assume at least two positions, a first position such that it is totally contained within the said hollow housing and a second position such that its plane forms a specific positive angle with the plane of the said frame, spring means (10) for exerting at least one force so as to bring the said platform (3) from the first position to the second position, controllable means (11) for holding the said platform when it is in the said first position, and controllable means (12) for holding the said platform when it is in the said second position. The said spring means (10) comprise at least one pressure cylinder (20) comprising at least one cylinder, in order to define a sealed chamber with a variable volume, and a rod (22), integral with the said piston, the said volume chamber being swollen by a compressible fluid. <IMAGE>
