Abstract

The glazed facade element possesses at least two panes, namely an outer pane 11 and an inner pane 9. The frame 3 extends into the region of the channel 8, but does not protrude therefrom. The frame is thus no longer visible, or only very indistinctly visible, to someone observing the glazed facade. This produces better design possibilities for the architect, who can now omit the usual frame network on the glazed facade. Safety demands that, with glazed facades, the outer panes 11 are securely held in case of failure of the adhesive bond usual today. This is ensured by an angled portion 14 of the outer region of the frame 3. If the adhesive bond breaks, the angled portion 14 grips a holding region 15 on the edge of the pane and prevents it from falling. <IMAGE>
