Abstract

A venetian blind, for example for mounting between the panes of a multi-glazed window assembly, said blind comprising upper and lower elongate supporting members (31, 32) extending across all or part of the width of the blind means (25) for pivotally mounting said supporting members (31, 32) about their longitudinal axes with respect to upper and lower structural members (12, 13), slat supporting means (33) extending between and supported by said upper and lower supporting members (31, 32), a plurality of slats (34) carried by said slat supporting means (33) and operating means (68) operable from the exterior of the window, for controlling movement of said supporting members (31, 32), characterised in that the end of at least one slat supporting means (33) is secured to a supporting member (31, 32) by a plate (36) fixedly connected to that supporting member (31, 32), in that adjacent each plate (36), the associated supporting member (31, 32) is provided with an opening (35), and in that the means (25) for pivotally mounting said associated supporting member (31, 32) have a throughbore (28) therein, and are pivotally mounted in said opening (35) by way of a bearing pin (41) passing through said throughbore (28) and into an opening (42) in said plate (36).
