Abstract

The pressing unit has an axial running pressure shoe (1) which is supported at a carrier (7). The pressure shoe is adjusted opposite to the carrier in a press direction (9) in a linear manner. An active pressure unit is arranged between the pressure shoe and the carrier. Multiple transmission elements (4) are arranged to each other and are provided between the pressure unit and the pressure shoe. The transmission elements are dimensionally stable in press direction and are made of steel, aluminum or plastic. The pressure shoe is made of aluminum or aluminum alloy. An independent claim is included for a press roll with a rotating and flexible roll shell.
