Abstract

1. Coated press belt, especially PUR (polyurethane)-coated press belt for use in an extended nip press, comprising a carrier fabric consisting of one set of longitudinal threads and at least one set of cross threads, characterized in that the longitudinal threads or warp threads (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17) succeeding one another form at least on one side of the fabric knuckles positioned adjacent to one another and extending over the same cross threads or weft threads (18, 19, 20), so called double knuckles, and that part of the longitudinal threads consists of material the longitudinal stability of which corresponds to that one of Kevlar**(R) or steel, whereas the other part thereof consists of a material the wear resistence thereof is corresponding to that one of polyamide.
