Abstract
1. A vacuum induction oven for the heating and treatment of molten metallic masses, consisting of a stationary part which, besides the oven support, includes the cooled induction coil and the surrounding external magnet yokes arranged in it, as well as, interchangeably housed in the oven support and capable of being transported to this, a shape-retaining melt vessel with a lid, made of fireproof material, and a hood specifically made for the vacuum-tight closing of the vessel mouth, overlapping, with a gap, the latter together with the lid, which hood is supported to form a tight closure on a rim, provided with a sealing edge, surrounding the melt vessel, characterized in that a rigidly held outer vessel (10) made of fireproof, non-magnetizable, heat insulating material, which is open only at the top, is arranged surrounding the melt vessel (3) almost without play, the outer vessel (10) is surrounded without play by the cooled induction coil (14), the rim (16) is attached, with an axial separation from the induction coil (14), outside on the opening rim part of the outer vessel (10) to form a seal, and the outer vessel (10) has a gastight coating (13).
