Abstract
The present invention concerns a bushing insulator with shielding of the electrical field to be used, for examples, in medium or high-voltage air or gas-insulated switchboards, medium or high-voltage power transformers and reactance, instrument transformers, capacitors and medium and high voltage gas insulated busbar, that comprises a moulding of electrical insulating material enclosing a metal insert for shielding the electrical field. The bushing insulator of the invention is characterised by the fact that said metal insert comprises at least portions of shape memory material capable to assume a predetermined shape upon thermal stress. <IMAGE>
