Abstract

The machine has one or more pairs of opposite driven cutter heads (6), each with two rings of chopping blades, and associated cutting saws. The rotation diameters of the chopping blades (14,18) of the two rings (12,16) are relatively adjustable. The active width of the blades in the rings with smaller diameters, is adjustable for side definition of the outer, more narrow of the two side planks to be cut. The rotary axis (10) of the cutter heads extends parallel to the cutting planes of the associated saws. The chopping blades in one ring are offset relative to those in the other ring.
