Abstract

The protective cap (28) has an opening (38) in its wall allowing access to the field connection bolt (18) of the starter relay, so that the cap can be fixed onto the starter by tightening a nut onto the field connection bolt. A channel (40) integrated into the cap connects to the opening and encloses the free end of the bolt and the nut (42) when the protective cap is mounted. The channel is essentially cylindrical and is only open in the direction of the end of the field connection bolt. The channel accepts the nut screwed onto the bolt, and which is pref. made of plastic, so that it cannot come undone.
