A one piece escalator balustrade skirt panel (28) is provided for an escalator having a plurality of moving steps (12). The skirt panel comprises a front surface (30), a back surface (32), a plurality of ribs (34), and a maintaining apparatus (36) for maintaining the skirt panel in close proximity to the steps. The ribs are positioned between and integrally attached to the front and back surfaces. <IMAGE>
