Abstract

1. Gas burner producing planar flames comprising a burner body (2) having an interior which widens in a diffusor like manner, an annular air supply channel (4) and a gas supply pipe (3) arranged coaxially within the air supply channel (4) gas nozzles (14) being formed at the head part (13) of the gas supply pipe and being directed into mixing grooves (9) which extend helically at an angle to the axis of the burner and into which the air supply pipe (4) empties in an axial direction, and the inner ends of the mixing grooves adjacent the mouth of the air supply pipe (4) being axially inclined relative to the burner axis, characterised in that a swirl-inducer (5) is formed in the air supply pipe (4), in that starting from the opening position of the air supply pipe (4) the interior of the burner body (2) widens arcuately and the mixing grooves (9) are develloped on the internal surface (8) of the burner body (2), and in that the gas nozzles (14) incline radially and axially relative to the burner axis.
