Abstract

A retaining clip for use in holding the wires of a cage created during the process of manufacturing a reinforced concrete piling comprises a plastics planar element (10) having around an edge a radial slot (15) which receives longitudinally extending wires of the cage and retains them against the pressure of a flexible tongue (16) and a second slot (25) in the plane of the element (10) which extends through the tongue (16) and part (14) of the element (10) to receive a wire rod (9) of the cage which is transverse to the other wires (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) and bonds them together. The element (10) has protruberances (21) on its profile which act as spacers in a mould. <IMAGE>
