Abstract

A reusable yarn carrier for threads consists in its essential part of a cylindrical basic body (1) made of hard paper, wood or plastic having a flush exchangeable covering (3) which possesses, over the end face on the yarn run-off side, a circular groove (5), the inner wall (5'') of which projects beyond the outer wall (5'). The plastic covering (3) is crimped over the outer edge (4) of the end face and is fastened to the inner groove wall (5''). In an alternative version, the basic body (1) is equipped with a head part (2). The head part (2) serves for receiving a linear-density disc and makes handling easier. <IMAGE>
