Abstract

In a window or door fitting, an actuating-shaft extension (4) of a handle (1) passes through a lock-actuating element (5) mounted rotatably in a fitting housing (2), and this actuating-shaft extension (4) is fixed axially by means of a catch element (9) which is loaded by a spring (8) perpendicularly to the actuating-shaft extension (4) and which can be pushed back counter to the spring effect. Such a window or door fitting with an engageable handle (1) becomes independent of the construction of the fitting housing (2) in that the catch element (9) consists of a bolt which is mounted in the free end (10) of the actuating-shaft extension (4) in a bore (11) and which engages behind the lock-actuating element (5). <IMAGE>
