Fig. 3 zeigt die fertige Verbindung.

Process for the production of connections of profiled frame strips.

The invention relates to a new process for the production of corner, cross and double T connections of profiled frame strips, in particular in the case of window frames. The introduction of the profiled frame strips in the frame strips correspondingly profiled sleeves of connecting pieces made of sheet metal is known. The invention consists in the fact that the ends of the frame timber entering the connecting piece are initially tapered by the sheet metal thickness of the connecting piece over the length to be covered by the sleeve of the connecting piece by a pressure acting evenly on all profile surfaces and then pushed into the sleeves.

The drawing explains the new method in its application to a corner joint of two frame timbers with a square cross-section.

Fig. 1 shows the timber frame of the corner connection before application of the new method, Fig. 2 after application of the method together with the associated corner bracket made of sheet metal. Fig. 3 shows the completed connection.

According to the invention, the two frame strips 1, 2 (Fig. 1) to be combined to form a corner connection are subjected to a considerable pressure acting uniformly on all profile surfaces at the ends that come into engagement with the Eekwinkel 3, so that they are over the length covered by the angle 1 ', 1 "and 21, 2" have a profile tapered by the sheet thickness b. Then the two frame

Screws or rivets attached, so that the corner connection shown in Fig. 3 is created.

It is clear that the method according to the invention can be applied to any profiled frame strips and appropriately profiled press bars are used to generate the pressure. The frame strips are advantageously inserted into the corresponding sheet metal sleeve of the corner bracket (cross or double T bracket) immediately after pressing, so that the wood compressed by the pressing presses strongly against the sheet metal walls of the corner bracket as a result of the expansion that occurs, which alone is one fixed connection is guaranteed.

In addition, the corner connection produced in this way has a much more pleasing appearance, since the tapering of the profile by the sheet thickness of the sleeve of the connecting piece that is to be pulled on results in a smooth surface of the corner connection on all sides.
