   Bekanntlich entstehen beim Sammeln der Kokons Abfälle, welche Auswurfseide (die ersten Fäden des Seidenspinners) enthalten, u. zw. im Gemenge mit kleinen Teilchen von Holz, Blättern, Stroh u. dgl., welch letztere sich von den Kokons ablösen und mehr oder minder grosse Anteile von Seide mit sich reissen. 



   Den Gegenstand der Erfindung bildet ein Verfahren, das die vollständige Gewinnung der   Seide   diesen Abfällen dadurch ermöglicht, dass die Seide von den bezeichneten vegetabilischen Beimengungen befreit wird. 



   Der Erfindung gemäss werden die Abfälle in eine von aussen geheizte Kammer eingebracht, wobei im Innern eine Temperatur oberhalb   100    C eingehalten wird : die obere Grenze dieser Temperatur ist durch die Bedingung gegeben. dass die Seide keine   schädlichen Veränderungen   erleiden darf. Bei Anwendung von Temperaturen zwischen 100 und 115  C erfordert die Behandlung zwei bis drei Stunden, in welcher Zeit die   vegetabilischen   Fremdkörper (Holz-, Blätter-, Strohteilchen), die im allgemeinen ohnedies schon trocken sind, ihre Feuchtigkeit vollkommen abgeben und sehr spröde und zerreiblieh werden.
