one, 6, causes the non-weakened current to be switched on, while the other, 7, closes the circuit with resistor 8.
According to the invention, the resistor 8 consists of a choke coil which has the property described above that at the moment the switch 7 closes, the current from the current source 5 passes to the magnet 3 without being weakened, whereby the latter pulls in its armature 2 with full force. But since the breaker contacts 4 are opened immediately and from now on periodically interrupted

current, so that the signal is only muted.
The invention can also be used in signal instruments in which the sound-generating membrane or plate is not driven directly by the electromagnet, but, for example, by means of an air pump designed as a membrane pump, which is activated by the electromagnet.
It is also immaterial in which way the switching on of the choke coil is done. Instead of two parallel circuits, as in the illustrated embodiment, only a single circuit can be provided in which the choke coil can be switched on and off at will. The circuit can be done manually or automatically, e.g. B. depending on the speed of the vehicle, the speed of the drive motor, etc., take place.
