Process for the production of a feed substitute from straw, chaff and the like. like

In the production of feed substitutes from straw, chaff, etc. Like. The raw material is placed in a boiler, and the cells are broken down by a liquor consisting of caustic soda, water and steam. After cooking, d. H. Once the cells have been disrupted, all of the material is removed from the kettle and washed out with water to remove the harmful chemicals.
 EMI1.1
that the cells of the raw material close again immediately when it cools, and it is impossible to remove the harmful chemicals by subsequent washing.

In contrast, the invention relates to a method which no longer has the deficiency mentioned. The harmful chemicals are completely washed out in this process.

The method consists in boiling the straw or chaff in a known manner by means of a liquor made up of sodium hydroxide solution, steam and water. The steam is carried through the liquor hindu-eh, so that it is in constant motion together with the straw or chaff. All cells are unlocked and the
 EMI1.2
If cooling occurs, it is washed out with hot water. So it is impossible for the cells to close so that harmful chemicals can no longer be contained in the cells.

In addition, the rinsing water penetrates through the material to be washed out much better when it is still in a hot state than when it has already cooled down from being poured over.
