  Verfahren zur Erzeugung von   Treibriemen aus Trikotatot.   



   Die herrschende Ledernot hat uns auf den Gedanken gebracht, Treibriemen aus Trikotstoffen zu erzeugen. 



   Zu diesem Behufe ist der auf dem Rundstuhle in üblicher Weise erzeugte Trikotstoff in schmale Streifen von der Breite und Länge des zu erzeugenden Riemens zu schneiden. Man legt dann die der Stärke des zu erzeugenden Riemens entsprechende Anzahl Streifen aufeinander. Die einzelnen Lagen können aus beliebigem Trikotstoff genommen werden. Nur die oberste und unterste Lage muss aus einem dünnen, feinmaschigen, geschlossenen Trikotatoff bestehen, um ein Dehnen des erzeugten Riemens zu vermeiden. Es werden sodann die aufeinandergelegten Lagen Trikotstoffes in derselben Weise zusammengenäht, wie dies bei Steppdecken üblich ist, nur müssen die Nähte, damit die aufeinandergelegten Streifen die Eigenschaft einer zusammenhängenden Masse erhalten, sehr dicht, nur wenige Millimeter voneinander entfernt, ausgeführt werden. 



   Wird das so erhaltene Produkt eingefettet, so kann es anstandslos als Treibriemen verwendet werden. Der auf diese Weise hergestellte Treibriemen hat annähernd dieselben Eigenschaften wie ein Treibriemen gleicher Breite und Stärke aus Leder, nur ist er ungleich billiger.

The number of strips corresponding to the thickness of the belt to be produced is then placed on top of one another. The individual layers can be made of any tricot fabric. Only the top and bottom layers have to be made of a thin, fine-meshed, closed tricot material to avoid stretching the strap. The layers of tricot that are placed on top of each other are then sewn together in the same way as is usual for quilts, only the seams must be very close, only a few millimeters apart, so that the strips on top of each other have the property of a cohesive mass.



   If the product obtained in this way is greased, it can easily be used as a drive belt. The drive belt produced in this way has almost the same properties as a drive belt of the same width and thickness made of leather, only it is much cheaper.
