Pull-operated switch with electromagnetic spark extinction.

The present invention relates to an electromagnetic spark extinguishing switch with a peculiar arrangement of the blowing coil.

The apparatus consists of a cast-iron cylindrical housing A (Fig. 1 and 2), which in its center contains a blown powder B (Fig. 1, 2 and diagram), over which two permanently mounted contacts Cl and O2 lie, which are connected by an intermediate contact K. be conductively connected as soon as the pull rod Z carrying the same and passing through the coil comes to its lowest position.

The arrangement is accordingly made so that the axis of the blow coil coincides with that of the pull rod and the entire switch.

The circuit is switched on by hand by pulling. It is switched off automatically when the pull rod is released by moving the pull rod upwards, which is done by the action of the compression spring F (FIGS. 1 and 2).

For purposes where permanent activation is necessary, the switch is also provided with a lock consisting of the spring-loaded latch H (FIG. 1) which, when switched on, snaps into the position shown in dotted lines and holds the adjusting ring R in place . The disconnection is then done by pressing the protruding finger of the catch H downwards, whereupon the released tie rod snaps up in the manner described.

The current interruption takes place simultaneously in two points, which in the magnetic field of the B) asspu! e cherish. The bass switch is lined up in series with the switching contacts (diagram) and the magnetic field generated by the same causes a quiet current interruption by preventing the formation of an electric arc.

The switch is particularly suitable for emergency switching and will be used, for example, for electric brakes on driving / narrow use, as shown in the Schanungsschema, as well as for those purposes where a circuit should only be switched on for a short period of time and automatic switching off is desired.
