Die Wirkungsweise wird nun im allgemeinen folgende sein :

Steigt nun die Temperatur des die Leitung r und den Regelungsapparat d durchströmenden hochüberhitzten Dampfes über das zulässige Mass hinaus, so wird das Schaltorgan 5 durch den Regelungaapparat d derart beeinflusst, dass durch die Leitung a mehr Nassdampf in den Zwischen- Überhitzer strömt, während entsprechend weniger Trockendampf durch die Leitung a'gelangt.
Infolgedessen wird dem überhitzten Dampf im Zwischenüberhitzer mehr Wärme entzogen.
