  Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Isoliermasse aus Holzkohle und Papierbrei. 



   Die Herstellung von isolierenden Körpern aus Holzkohle und Bindemitteln geschah bisher in der Weise, dass grössere   Holzkohlenstücke   zu Blatt-oder Spanform zerkleinert und alsdann durch flüssige Bindemittel und Druck zu Körpern (Tafeln, Schalen, Platten, Steinen und   dgl.)   miteinander vereinigt wurden (österreichisches Patent Nr. 41183). 



   Von diesem bekannten Verfahren unterscheidet sich das vorliegende dadurch, dass die Holzkohlenteilchen durch unmittelbares Verkohlen von   Holzsägemehl,   Dreh-, Bohr-oder   Hobelspänen   oder dgl. gewonnen werden. Die so sich ergebenden Holzkohlenteilchen, welche dann gleichfalls wie die nach dem bekannten Verfahren durch Zerkleinern grösserer   Hotzkohlenstücke   gewonnenen, Blatt-oder Spanform besitzen, werden in an sich bekannter Weise mit Papierbrei als Bindemittel, am   zweckmässigsten   Papierbrei (zu welchem Papierreste oder Abfallpapier benutzt werden können), gepresst, um die gewünschten Isolierkörper zu erzielen. 



   Dieses Verfahren gewährt den Vorteil, dass die bisher nur in geringerem Masse verwerteten, in'der Tischlerei und anderen   Holzbearbeitungswerkstätten   sich ergebenden Holzabfälle zur Herstellung eines wertvollen Produkts Verwendung finden können.

   The production of insulating bodies from charcoal and binding agents has hitherto been done in such a way that larger pieces of charcoal were crushed into sheet or chip form and then united with one another by liquid binding agents and pressure to form bodies (boards, dishes, plates, stones and the like) (Austrian Patent No. 41183).



   The present one differs from this known method in that the charcoal particles are obtained by directly charring wood sawdust, turning, drilling or planing chips or the like. The resulting charcoal particles, which, like those obtained according to the known method by comminuting larger pieces of hot charcoal, are in the form of sheets or chips, are in a known manner with paper pulp as a binding agent, most expediently paper pulp (for which paper scraps or waste paper can be used ), pressed to achieve the desired insulating body.



   This process affords the advantage that the wood waste, which has hitherto only been used to a lesser extent and which has arisen in the carpentry and other woodworking workshops, can be used for the manufacture of a valuable product.
