   Die Zeichnung stellt eine Ausführungsform der Schutzvorrichtung am Meissel dar. 



   Der Schirm besteht aus einem Stuck Eisenblech in der Form einer Schale oder Schaufel 1, deren oberer Teil als eine den mittleren Teil des Meissels   3 umfassende Hülse 3   ausgebildet ist und Löcher 4 für den Stiel besitzt, so dass dadurch ohneweiters eine feste Verbindung mit dem Meissel zustande kommt. Die dem Meissel zugewendete konkave Seite des Schirmes bewirkt ein sicheres Auffangen der durch den Meissel hinweggeschleuderten Teile, auch wenn diese eine von der gewöhnlichen etwas abweichende Bewegungsrichtung nehmen. 



   Es kann für den Schirm mitunter ein Drahtnetz oder ein anderes geeignetes Material anstatt Metallblech verwendet werden und die Befestigung kann an dem Stiel anstatt an dem Meissel selbst erfolgen.
