   Die Erfindung ist in mannigfacher Weise da anwendbar, wo es sich darum handelt, zwei einander überlappende Gewebestreifen oder die Seitenkanten eines Streifens so miteinander zu vereinigen, dass sie sich überlappen. Die Erfindung ist besonders geeignet zur Vereinigung der Enden eines aus mehreren Lagen bestehenden Gewebes zur Verstärkung von Luftreifen und ist in dieser Anwendung in der Zeichnung zur Darstellung gebracht. 



   In der Zeichnung zeigt : Fig. 1 in Seitenansicht ein Gewebe, welches aus einer Mehrzahl von miteinander einheitlich gewobenen Streifen besteht, von welchen jeder an seinen Seitenkanten einen   überlappte'il   besitzt, der in eine Reihe von Stufen von verschiedener   Dicke eingcteilt   ist ; Fig. 2 in Seitenansicht einen aus dem Gewebe der Fig. 1   ausgeschnittenen   Streifen ; Fig. 3 in Draufsicht eine der   stufenförmig   ausgebildeten Seitenkanten des in Fig. 2 dargestellten Streifens ; Fig. 4 im Querschnitt einen Fahrzeugreifen und die   Anbringungsweise eines gemäss   der vorliegenden Erfindung hergestellten Verstärkungsgewebes an diesem Reifen ; Fig. 5 einen Schnitt durch die   Reifenlaufnäche und   die einander überlappenden Enden des Verstärkunggewebes ;
