Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Kohlehydrate odeur gummierten versetzt.

Process for the preparation of durable solutions of copper oxide ammonia.
The solutions of copper oxide ammonia prepared in a known manner have a very short shelf life, i. H. their ability to dissolve cellulose decreases very quickly. which greatly affects its use for the manufacture of artificial silk and for the preparation of waterproof fabrics. This instability is based on the fact that copper hydroxide is slowly deposited from the solution at normal temperatures and more rapidly at a somewhat elevated temperature.
It has now been found that the shelf life of the copper oxide ammonia solutions can be increased by adding organic substances. The more-

even without any cooling, solutions with a considerably higher copper content than usual, namely those from I'roz. ent and above with ease.
An addition of 1 to 2 percent of the substances listed is sufficient to achieve the shelf life. It was found that copper oxydulammonia is not present in the solutions.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A process for the preparation of durable solutions of copper oxide ammonia, characterized in that the solutions of copper oxide ammonia prepared in a known manner with small amounts of organic substances, such as polyatomic alcohols, types of sugar. Carbohydrates or gummed spiked.
