   Bei den bisher verwendeten Elektroden für Bogenlampen, insbesondere solchen, welche zum Teil oder ganz aus Metalloxyden bestanden, war man stets   bestrebt, die Elektroden durch   Zusatz von Metalloxyden, Kohle oder Metallen leitfähig zu machen, damit die Elektroden auch   zündeten. Versuche   haben nun gezeigt, dass insbesondere Titanoxid (Rutil) ein vorzüglicher   Lichtspender ist,   dass es aber ein Nichtleiter der Elektrizität ist, dem andere Stoffe beigemengt   werden müssen, um   es   zündfähig   zu machen. 



   Es zeigte sich nun, dass   jeder derartige Zusatz zu Titanoxyd die Lichtstärke des Licht-
