Soll die Bremse gelöst werden, so wird der Stromkreis des Elektromagneten unterbrochen.
Eine Feder 2 führt dann den Dreiweghahn in die in Fig. 1 dargestellte Lage zurück, in der nunmehr die Kolbenseite 1 des Zylinders n1 mit der Aussenluft in Verbindung tritt (vgl. auch Fig. 1), während die Verbindung der Aussenluft mit dem Raum 2 unterbrochen und dieser Raum vorübergehend mit der Druckleitung in Verbindung gebracht wird. Infolgedessen wird die Welle f ganz nach links geschoben und dadurch die Kupplung gelöst. Damit sich auch die Bremsen lösen, muss hiebei gleichzeitig der Bremszylinder k oder die Druckleitung der Luftpumpe p mit der Aussenluft in Verbindung gesetzt werden.
Um im letzteren Falle im Raume 2 doch einen genügenden Druck aufrecht zu erhalten, ist die Anordnung des Hahnkükens v so getroffen, dass es in der in Fig.. 1 dargestellten Stellung den Raum 2 von der Druckleitung der Luftpumpe wieder abschliesst, so dass der in der Zwischenstellung in die Kammer 2 eingetretene Druck darin verbleibt.
Die Fig. 2 und 3 zeigen eine Ausführungsform des Hahnkükens, bei welcher die zur Verbindung der Räume 1 und 2 mit der Aussenluft dienenden Kanäle u in achsialer Richtung verlaufen.
