Deep-drawn tin can with elastic tear-off cord
In the well-known tin cans for preserves and tinned food with a rubber tear ring, the
Manufacture of the container already firmly connected the body frame with the lid, including this rubber tear ring, so that it can no longer change its position during or after filling. In the bottling plant, only the underbody was put in place and crimped with the hull in a known manner.
In the case of deep-drawn sheet metal containers, it is not possible to fasten the tear-off ring together with a lower or upper floor of the container before filling. It is therefore necessary to find means to relieve the bottling company of turning over the tear cord and also to make it easier for him to close it securely.
The inventive solution to this problem is that deformations are incorporated into the deep-drawn body part of the sheet metal container, which are located below the edge flange for placing the lid and protrude from this so far that the tear cord has enough space and held between the edge flange and the deformations can be.
The invention is illustrated by way of example in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. L shows a deep-drawn sheet metal container l, partially in section. Its edge flange 2 together with an outer bead or an outer bead 3 forms a groove in which the tear ring 4 is placed and in which it can be held.
2, 3 and 4. While this external deformation is provided in the form of partial beads 5 in FIG. 3, it is shown in FIG. 3 as a circumferential outer bead 6. However, only cams 7 according to FIG. 4 are possible and are sufficient for the purpose of the invention.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Food can with deep-drawn container body and elastic tear-off cord, characterized in that outwardly curved deformations are provided below the edge flange of the container body, which hold the tear-off cord close under the edge flange before the container is closed.
