Zeroing protection switch with neutral voltage release
The parent patent No. 216611 relates to a zeroing protection switch with neutral voltage release, in which, among other things, the monitoring of the neutral voltage is effected by a connection to a suitable auxiliary earth electrode via a series resistor after the summation current transformer. This series resistor can be real or complex as an alternating current resistor. Its task is to limit the current so that the switch does not trip until the neutral voltage reaches impermissibly high values. But now the auxiliary earth electrode resistance can fluctuate, u. between very small values, e.g. B. if a water pipe network is used as an auxiliary earth electrode, and the maximum value allowed for the switch in question, e.g. B. a few hundred ohms.

The voltage drop of the series resistor is combined geometrically with the voltage drop of the auxiliary earth electrode, which is always purely ohmic, to the neutral conductor voltage to earth. If the series resistor is also made purely ohmic, then the two voltage drops add up algebraically, i.e. H. Changes in the auxiliary earth resistance have a strong effect on the tripping voltage of the neutral voltage release. If, on the other hand, the series resistor contains a predominantly capacitive component (capacitor) or a predominantly inductive component (choke), then the two voltage drops add up practically at right angles, i.e. H. Changes in the auxiliary earth resistance do not have such a strong effect on the tripping voltage.
