Verfahren zum Entkohlen von kohlenstoffhaltigen Metallen oder Legierungen.
Durch das Stammpatent Nr. 150979 ist ein Verfahren zum Entkohlen von kohlenstoffhaltigen Metallen oder Legierungen mit Hilfe von reinem oder hochprozentigem Sauerstoff geschützt. Es besteht darin, dass man die Gase unter ständig aufrechterhaltenem Unterdruck auf die z. B. in einem umgelegten Konverter befindliche Schmelze ohne wesentliche Wärmezufuhr einwirken lässt.
Es wurde gefunden, dass man vorteilhaft während der Behandlung der Schmelze mit den genannten Gasen dieser desoxydierend wirkende Mittel zugibt. Man lässt z. B., wie in dem Stammpatent angegeben ist, auf geschmolzenes Ferrochrom mit einem Gehalt von etwa 1% Kohlenstoff bei Unterdruck auf die Badoberfläche hochprozentigen Sauerstoff einwirken und gibt desoxydierend wirkende Mittel zweckmässig in kleinen Anteilen, z. B. Ferrosilizium, Kalziumsilizium, Magnesium u. dgl., zu. Man kann dabei auch die Zufuhr von Sauerstoff zeitweilig unterbrechen. Es hat sich gezeigt, dass durch die Zugabe der beanspruchten Stoffe, insbesondere durch die bessere Durchmischung der Schmelze, ein günstiger Entkohlungseffekt und eine bessere Ausbeute an kohlenstoffarmen Metallen erzielt wird.

The parent patent no. 150979 protects a process for decarburizing carbon-containing metals or alloys with the aid of pure or high percentage oxygen. It consists in the fact that the gases under constantly maintained negative pressure on the z. B. in a converted converter melt can act without significant heat supply.
It has been found that it is advantageous to add these deoxidizing agents during the treatment of the melt with the gases mentioned. One lets z.
