Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 EMI1.1

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   The method can e.g. B. be carried out in the following way:
Example 1: 100 g of wood felt or sugar cane felt are soaked in 200 cm3 of a 5% strength aqueous solution of a synthetic resin saponified by caustic soda, for example a formaldehyde condensation product, cold under suitable pressure, such as B. between 150 to 200 atm. per square centimeter, pressed and then heated in a drying chamber to 120 to 1500 C until complete hardening.

   Example 2: 100 g of wood flour are soaked with 150 cm3 of a 6% aqueous solution of the type mentioned in Example 1, but with the difference that 6 to 8% of a 5% potassium or ammonium bendromate solution was added to the solution. Part of the water is then evaporated and finally the mass is pressed under a suitable pressure and at the appropriate temperature as in Example 1.

   There are products that are not hygroscopic and easy to work with, as well as insects such. B. termites, fungi, etc., are not attacked. If these products are in the form of plates, e.g. B. produced from 10 to 12 mm thickness, then these can be used, among other things, both for construction purposes and for the production of furniture (the panels as a core with fournings of any type and quality with casein or other glues). Among other things, the property that such resin solutions are very well absorbed by the wood fiber itself, so that z. B. softwood soaked in whole pieces and then hardened or

   Drying process can be subjected, resulting in a product that no longer absorbs moisture, is mechanically much stronger, easy to work with and is excellently preserved.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A process for the production of synthetic compositions from materials such as cellulose, wood, asbestos, leather waste, etc., and for the preservation, in particular of wood, characterized in that these materials are saponified with an aqueous solution of a saponified, curable and dilutable with water in any proportion Phenol-aldehyde condensation product or a natural resin are mixed and the mixture is hardened by the action of heat with possible application of pressure.
