Description

Process for the production of solid resin glue (hard glue), especially for
Paper manufacture.

The invention relates to a process for the production of resin glue, in particular for paper manufacture. Resin glue is made by treating resin with alkali. So far, the resin glue was packaged in barrels in a liquid state on the market. The invention aims to produce resin glue in the dry or test state, which is suitable for packaging in paper.

Processes are known for the production of solid paper size from synthetic resins, such as coumarone or indene resins - these are unsaponifiable resins - which can be obtained by treatment with resins. Fats or oils and alkali are made emulsifiable. It is also known to make paper sizes by saponifying montan wax with caustic soda in a consistent form.

The subject of the invention is a process for the production of hard clay which consists essentially of saponifiable resins.

According to the invention, saponifiable resins are made with alkalis. such as caustic or carbonic acid alkalis, with the use of protective colloids in the presence of a little water (excluding vacuum), saponified to such an extent that a dry resin glue that is soluble or emulsifiable in water is formed.

It is well known to add protective colloids to dilute resin soap solutions as precipitation-preventing substances or to incorporate colloidal-like substances in such amounts that they act as sizing agents or paper filling agents.

According to the invention, protective colloids are the solid resin soap-forming reaction

 should form means.

The products coming onto the market so far had a maximum resin content of 70% or were nothing more than rosin hardened with soda, which, however, never gives a perfect solution or emulsion with water. The pending process enables the production of solid emulsifiable resin glue with a resin concentration of z. B. 840/0 and a dry content of z. B. 90%. Because by boiling resin in the presence of protective colloids, the resin soaps are prepared and intimately emulsified. that they are easily water-soluble or emulsifiable even in solid form.

Possible protective colloids are: starch products, oils, solid hydrocarbons of the paraffin series, waxes and the like. like

Exemplary embodiment: 70 parts of resin are mixed with 7 parts of soda, 2 parts of beeswax and 21 parts of water and boiled until a drawn sample has solidified after cooling.
